What is Profound RF?
Profound RF is a breakthrough technology used at our London clinic to treat skin sagging, wrinkles, and excess fat on the face, neck, and body.
Known as the ‘non-surgical face lift,’ Profound RF is an injectable radiofrequency treatment that tightens, smoothes, hydrates, and contracts the skin and fat layers.

How does Profound RF treatment work?
Profound RF treatment stimulates repair and regeneration within the dermis and hypodermis.
It results in significant increases in the 3 critical components of healthy and youthful skin: collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. During the treatment, thin needles are inserted into the skin and radiofrequency energy is then delivered, generating heat.
The skin tissue is heated to exactly 67 degrees Celsius and held at this temperature for 3+ seconds, optimally stimulating repair and regeneration.Â

How to prepare for Profound RF at our London clinic ?
All our patients are invited for a consultation appointment prior to treatment. During your consultation, the doctor will assess your concerns and the areas for potential treatment. There may be a number of suitable treatment options and the doctor will discuss these with you in detail. You will be sent information about each treatment via email.
If you choose to go ahead with Profound RF: on the day of treatment you will be seen by the doctor who will take you through the consent process, answer any other questions you may have, take before-treatment pictures and apply numbing cream to the area. Once the numbing has started working (approximately 30 minutes), the doctor will then clean the skin thoroughly and apply numbing injections into the skin.
Once the skin is fully anaesthetised, the treatment will begin. Normally patients will not feel any pain or discomfort during treatment. The treatment can take 1-2 hours, depending on the size of the area to be treated. During the treatment you can talk and listen to music. If you wish, you can bring a friend with you.
After treatment, the skin will be cleaned again and, if needed, dressings will be applied. You will be given aftercare lotions to use and a date will be set for follow-up. If you are treating the face, we recommend that you either have someone collect you from the clinic or that you take a taxi home.
Profound RF is excellent for full face rejuvenation, jawline and neck tightening, reducing fat under the chin, reducing areas of excess fat on the body e.g. arms, bra strap fat, abdomen, love-handles, thighs and knees.

The most common Profound RF treatment side-effects are swelling, redness and bruising. Profound RF is an intense treatment that generates significant repair and regeneration within the skin. As a result, it is common to have swelling that can be most pronounced on days 2-3 after treatment. Most people will want to take a few days off work or to work from home if they can. Within 4-5 days most of the swelling has gone down and people can normally get back to work. It can take up to 2 weeks for all the visible signs of treatment to completely disappear.

It is important to ensure that the skin has not been excessively damaged or inflamed in the time leading up to the Profound treatment at our London clinic. In general, we ask you to ensure that you are well-hydrated, are not planning any sunny holidays in the next 6 weeks and are not currently pregnant, breastfeeding or trying for a pregnancy.
