A back acne chemical peel can help with back acne that often causes pain, pigmentation and scarring on the back.
It is a long-term inflammatory condition caused by over-production of oil (sebum), congestion of dead skin cells, inflammation and bacterial colonisation. As with any type of acne, back acne can be worsened by hormonal imbalance, lifestyle factors and skin or laundry products.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A CHEMICAL PEEL FOR BACK ACNE ?
We use a high-strength TCA peel to exfoliate the top layer of your skin. This removes a layer of debris, dead cells, and pigmentation and stimulates your skin to start regenerating and repairing. This helps smooth scarring, reduce pigmentation and breakouts on the back. We typically recommend 1-6 treatments for optimal results, depending on your skin.
At your consultation, we will assess your skin, discuss your concerns and make a treatment plan to address your needs. At your treatment appointment, your practitioner will discuss the steps of treatment and take you through the process of consent. We will then clean the skin and take pre-treatment photographs. The therapist will subsequently apply the peel solution to the back. It may feel mildly uncomfortable, but is generally not painful. Your therapist will apply several layers of the solution to increase the depth of treatment. A lotion is then applied to the skin. We recommend that you wear loose-fitting clothes that you don’t mind staining.
Our body treatments are safe and effective treatment for acne, rough texture, pigmentation, sun damage, melasma and scarring.
Patch-testing is not generally required for peels. If you have specific allergies or skin concerns, it is important to discuss these with the therapist at your first consultation.
1-6 sessions, 1 per month.
Results can last for several years. However, over time, acne and pigmentation may return so it is important to also consider optimising your skincare and lifestyle to ensure the results last long-term.
The treatment options are not painful. Most people will feel mild or moderate heat and stinging during the treatment.
There is some redness, sensitivity and peeling of the skin. Peeling usually starts 2 days after treatment and continues for a total of 7-10 days. Most people can continue with normal work and social activities.
Back peels are carried out by our experienced therapists.
We recommend that you pause any treatments like retinol, tretinoin, salicylic acid or glycolic for 5 days on the treatment area prior to the treatment. We recommend that you do not tan for at least 4 weeks prior to and for at least 6 weeks after this treatment. We also suggest bringing loose, comfortable clothing to wear after the treatment.
